A love of the great outdoors and many happy holidays spent camping in Yorkshire was the start of our vision for Little North Field Glamping. Three young children and a hectic work schedule in the catering and events sector meant holidays were a couple of days here and there whatever we could fit in. Camping was the perfect solution.
They were the BEST DAYS; children outside from dusk till dawn, dining al fresco, sampling the finest Yorkshire fare on the BBQ. All completed with the essential campfire along with stories, singing, laughing ,dancing and not to forgot feasting on marshmallows from twigs forested and whittled. Fabulous days out exploring new places we saw so much of Yorkshire taking lots of short breaks in different locations.
After several years dreaming of starting our own glampsite (camping with benefits!) we made the big move leaving the city for rural North Yorkshire. The beautiful home we found was in the perfect location close to our favourite places and along with our own field for our glampsite.
In January 2019 we received the green light from the planners for our proposed site. Since then it has been all systems go ready for our March 2020 opening.
A name for our new venture had been decided in 2018….Night Sky Glamping due to the fabulous night sky our guests would experience away from light pollution. However this was all to change…a rainy bank holiday looking through the deeds of our new family home Mount Pleasant we came across the most fantastic historic handwritten documents. There it was….
A close of land known locally as Little North Field, an acre and three roods. So there you have the land had to go back to its original name and heritage.
We can’t wait to see our Little Field develop over the next couple of months and warmly welcome our first guests.
Our aim is to facilitate amazing holidays for families and friends. A place to disconnect and recharge, spend the whole day from dusk till dawn experiencing the great outdoors. THE BEST DAYS. Simple.
